The stay was enjoyable, especially being so close to the wedding venue, just a short walk away. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, and the staff was very accommodating, offering to restock our tea and coffee without us asking. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious and freshly prepared!

Chequers inn was lovely! It's just a 5-minute walk from the train station and the wedding venue. Our room was spacious and had a comfy bed. Tea and coffee were restocked in the morning. The staff were super friendly and even provided us with an iron when we needed it. The breakfast was delicious too!

A well-suited match for a lightning stop in Battle with extraordinarily good value for money. The shower was a bit awkward, but the secondary glazing helped keep the noise down. If you're sensitive to noise, consider asking for a room away from the road.

I just spent two good nights in a cozy beautiful double room with an en suite shower! The sirloin steak was hands down the best I've ever tasted, and the breakfast options were creative and delicious! The staff were cute, providing great service without skipping a beat.

The breakfast was beautiful-hats off to the chef! The location is spot-on for exploring Battle, just a hop away from fab eateries like Mrs Burton's Teas. Plus, the beer garden made for a fab chill spot after a day of adventuring.
A bit of character was missing from the rooms, and the cafetière could use a serious clean. Felt a tad unwelcome with staff not being all that friendly-better communication would go a long way.

Charming outdoor seating, unique historical experience, cozy bar area
The bathrooms could definitely use better space management!!! A little more noise insulation would improve the guest experience, especially from the pub area!!! Not to mention the old infrastructure could use some updating!!!

The large en-suite room was pretty good. Staff engagement stood out, as they proactively provided assistance and maintained a cute atmosphere. Breakfast with local ingredients was a highlight, complemented by a charming beer garden for outdoor relaxation. Be mindful of the low ceilings in the corridors, which could catch taller guests off guard, and the somewhat compact en-suite may not suit everyone's preferences.

We had a super friendly team and our room was really good. The vibe was lovely and cozy and perfect for us since it was the night before our wedding blessing. The staff helped us a ton with storing our bags and let us get ready in the morning which was really nice. Totally recommend this place for couples!
Some areas like the gardens were a bit unkempt with dead plants. It was a bit awkward since we were the only ones there for a while and didn't get the pub vibe we hoped for.
